Daft Punk's studio albums, 1997–2013
Daft Punk were an electronic duo from Paris, Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo, who had played together in the rock band Darlin'. They made house music, and from 2001 on they appeared in public in robot helmets. They split in 2021.
Homework was recorded at Bangalter's home and holds Da Funk and Around the World. Discovery draws on disco and the pop of the late seventies and eighties; Romanthony sings One More Time. Human After All, the shortest of the four, is built on guitar riffs and vocoder. Random Access Memories was recorded with studio players, Nile Rodgers, Giorgio Moroder and Pharrell Williams among the guests, and won the Grammy for Album of the Year.
The list has 4 records from 1997 to 2013. Left out are the live albums Alive 1997 and Alive 2007, the remix albums Daft Club and Human After All (Remixes), the soundtrack to TRON: Legacy, the compilation Musique Vol. 1 and the members' own records. About 4 hours of music, 1 days of a few records each.
