Kraftwerk's studio albums, 1974–2003
Kraftwerk are an electronic group from Düsseldorf, founded in 1970 by Ralf Hütter and Florian Schneider. They made their records in their own Kling Klang studio there, with Wolfgang Flür and Karl Bartos on electronic drums from the mid-seventies.
Autobahn, whose title track takes up the whole first side, was their first hit abroad. Radio-Activity and Trans-Europe Express followed, then The Man-Machine with The Robots and The Model, a number one in Britain in 1982. Computer World sang of numbers and pocket calculators. Electric Café came five years later and was renamed Techno Pop in 2009, and Tour de France Soundtracks marked the race's hundredth year in 2003.
The list has 7 records from 1974 to 2003. Left out are the first three albums, Kraftwerk, Kraftwerk 2 and Ralf und Florian, which the band keeps out of its catalogue; The Mix, new recordings of older songs; the live Minimum-Maximum and 3-D The Catalogue; and the members' own records. About 5 hours of music, all of it on one day of the plan.
