Italy's popular music has a stage of its own, the Festival di Sanremo, and a word of its own, the cantautore, the singer who writes: Fabrizio De André, Lucio Battisti, Francesco Guccini, Paolo Conte, Lucio Dalla and Rino Gaetano, and around them Modugno's Nel blu dipinto di blu, Mina and Celentano, the prog of PFM and Area, Giorgio Moroder's disco, Pino Daniele's Naples, Battiato, the rock of Vasco Rossi, Litfiba and CCCP, Eros Ramazzotti and Laura Pausini for the world, Jovanotti, Afterhours, Carmen Consoli and Subsonica, the rap of Fabri Fibra, Caparezza and Sfera Ebbasta, the indie of Calcutta and Colapesce Dimartino, Mahmood and Måneskin, who won Eurovision in 2021. The list has 53 records from 1958 to 2021, one or two by each of the names above and only a small part of what they made; opera, film music and the regions' own songs would each need a list of their own. About 41 hours of music, 5 days of a few records each.
