Denmark's popular music has a festival at its centre, Roskilde and its Orange Stage, and a voice most of the country can sing along to, Kim Larsen's, with Gasolin' and alone; around them Steppeulvene and The Savage Rose in the sixties, Shu-bi-dua, Sebastian and C.V. Jørgensen in the seventies, the jazz of Niels-Henning Ørsted Pedersen and Palle Mikkelborg, Kliché, Sort Sol and TV-2 in the eighties, Mercyful Fate and D-A-D for the metal, Dizzy Mizz Lizzy and Mew in the nineties and after, Aqua for the world, the hip hop of Den Gale Pose, Trentemøller's electronics, Agnes Obel, MØ, Lukas Graham and Volbeat on the big stages, and Tobias Rahim and Benjamin Hav today. The list has 55 records from 1967 to 2022, one or two by each of the names above and only a small part of what they made; Nielsen beyond a nod and most of the classical tradition, dansktop, and the Faroe Islands' and Greenland's own music would each need a list of their own. About 45 hours of music, 5 days of a few records each.
