Poland's popular music has two stages at its centre, the amphitheatre of Opole, home of the festival of Polish song since 1963, and the field at Jarocin, the festival of the eighties' punk and new wave; around them Czesław Niemen, Czerwone Gitary and SBB in the sixties and seventies, the jazz of Krzysztof Komeda and Tomasz Stańko, the rock of Perfect, Maanam, Republika, Lady Pank, Brygada Kryzys and Kult, the nineties of Hey, Myslovitz and Edyta Bartosiewicz, the metal of Vader and Behemoth, the hip hop of Paktofonika, O.S.T.R. and Taco Hemingway, Brodka, Dawid Podsiadło and sanah today, the highlanders of Zakopower, the film scores of Preisner and Kilar, and Krystian Zimerman's Chopin. The list has 55 records from 1966 to 2021, one or two by each of the names above and only a small part of what they made; Anna German, Ewa Demarczyk and Lombard are missing because their studio records are not on Deezer, and Chopin and the rest of the classical tradition, disco polo and the regions' own music would each need a list of their own. About 45 hours of music, 5 days of a few records each.
