The Philippines' popular music has the kundiman at its start, Sylvia La Torre's above all, with Pilita Corrales and Nora Aunor beside her, then the Pinoy rock of the Juan dela Cruz Band, Asin and Freddie Aguilar's Anak, the Manila sound of Hotdog, VST & Company and the APO Hiking Society, Ryan Cayabyab, Jose Mari Chan, Regine Velasquez and Lea Salonga, the rap of Francis M and Gloc-9, the nineties bands, the Eraserheads' Ultraelectromagneticpop! and Cutterpillow, Rivermaya, Parokya ni Edgar and Urbandub from Cebu, Joey Ayala's songs from Davao, Up Dharma Down, and Ben&Ben, IV of Spades and SB19 today, with Cecile Licad and the Philippine Madrigal Singers for a nod to the concert hall. The list has 55 records from 1962 to 2022, one or two by each of the names above and only a small part of what they made; Rivermaya's Trip, Wolfgang's and Yano's first records and Imago's Take 2 are not on Deezer, and the kulintang and the songs of the islands beyond a nod, the Visayan and Cebuano scene, the church choirs and most of the classical tradition would each need a list of their own. About 44 hours of music, 5 days of a few records each.
