How the colours are found
Each stripe is one colour of a cover, not the average of it: the average of most covers is a brown. Tidal gives every cover a colour, one of the cover's own colours made dark so that white letters can stand on it. The page looks on the cover for the colour of that hue and takes it as light as it is on the cover. Where the cover has nothing of that hue, or Tidal gives no colour, it takes the cover's largest strong colour, and on a cover without one its largest colour, often a black, a grey or a white.
A record counts for the country its artist is from, as MusicBrainz has it, not the country it came out in. A country with fewer than 50 covers has no band, and only albums whose cover the site has and looked at are on the page.
